Configurator Panel Not Working Correctly

An ongoing problem I thought I'd solved.  But no.  Configurator panel is installed.  Made from scratch from the latest version of Configurator 4.  When a keyboard short cut is used to change tools, something I do often, it will revert back to the former tool setting.  If its on the marquee tool and you hit the "b" key on the keyboard, it changes to the brush tool, but then reverts back to the marquee too.  Doesn't matter what tool you change it to, it changes back to the tool from whence you came.  Other process seem to be slowed to an extent also.  If I use my wacom pen to change the tool by clicking appropriately, then it will change the tool, but it takes a couple of seconds to change instead of doing it instantly.

Why?  There must be a conflict somewhere, but I can't figure out where.  I have a number of plugins.  I thought one might be the culprit.  I eliminated each one, one at a time, until all were gone from photoshop.  No change.  Not until I deleted the configurator panel itself did things work as they're supposed to.  I've since re-added the plugins minus configurator and everything is fine.

I've used Configurator since Configurator 2.  Three worked fine in it's time as did 4 with CS6.  CC?  Doesn't work.  Same computer and same operating system since I've got the cloud.  Any ideas?

Running Windows 8 pro, I7 Quad Core, 24 gigs RAM, Xonar DX sound card,  and plenty of storage.  I really would like to have the configurator panel back for the convenience.

Thanks,

Jim
